Real Life, y u so lame?

First of all, the last couple of chapters of Vortex Boys is going to be delayed a bit due to real life stuff. I'm hoping after Monday things will calm down.

So money, as always, has been a huge issue lately. Right before Christmas, our car needed about $700 worth of work, basically our entire Christmas budget. We were then VERY tight, and then the car was in the shop in January once more for $300, and then the SECOND car was in in February for $500. Now our van is once more in the shop and probably not going to make it, and FINALLY when Justin has gotten his tuition reimbursement from work and we have a little room to breathe, we have to put a down payment on a car. Now granted, I'm excited about it. I am looking forward to having a newer car with a guaranteed service plan and certain major repairs covered for a period of time, but it doesn't make our financial situation any brighter now that we have to find probably $400/month in our budget and have to deal with full coverage on our insurance once again. We've been making payments on Connor's summer camp, which will be complete in May, so that's a good amount there but still doesn't cover everything. I've been working all the extra time they've been willing to give me, but it's not a guarantee and I don't want to rely on it.

Anyway, to make a long story short, we've been generally left with a VERY small amount of money at the end of every paycheck, and I realize I still owe several people knitting projects. Justin has allotted me shipping money with the tuition reimbursement, so I will be at the post office today or Monday (if they're open Monday? I have the day off at least, not sure about postal service...) getting everything out. If you ordered something with size concerns, I am also going to do a complimentary item in the next size up and send it along as well. I'm putting a traction sole on any booties above size 6 months as well, so that any little buggers learning to stand and walk will not have to worry about slipping and getting hurt :-)

Writing has been a great escape from everything, but the last week, everything has been just suffocating me. We're already doing all that we can, Justin is in school and doing remarkably well, I'm staying at a job I hate most of the time so that we can have a steady amount every week. I guess I should be grateful that we have financing and will mostly likely be fine for the payments once Connor's camp is paid off. I am trying to count our blessings every day. We both have jobs, we have a home, we have two cars, and we have each other and Connor most of all. But sometimes the short-term issues kind of make it hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Thank you all for bearing with me, not just for this entry.
